Strombolian eruption from a vent in the center of Ibu's lava dome
When observed during 12-13 Nov, there was frequent mild to moderate explosive activity from at two different vents in the center of the lava dome. ...more

A viscous lava flow continues to be active on the northern flank of the volcano. The flow, similar to the one currently active at Santiaguito volcano in Guatemala, starts as an overflow from the lava dome in the crater, and forms a lobe traveling through a breach of the crater rim into a ravine extending north of the volcano. ...more

MODIS hot spots at Ibu volcano (MODVOLC, Univ. Hawaii)
New thermal signals have been detected recently coming from the northern rim of the volcano's summit crater, suggesting that the volcano has entered a phase of increased activity. ...more

MODIS hot spot at Ibu volcano (ModVolc, Univ. Hawaii)
Activity (effusive / explosive) continues at the volcano, which has an active lava dome. A new MODIS hot spot is visible on satellite data, suggesting this has recently increased.

A thermal anomaly remains visible at the volcano on satellite data, suggesting that there is some sort of ongoing eruptive activity. This could likely be from a slowly growing lava dome.
