A magnitude 4.6 earthquake near Āsmār, Bar Kunaṟ, Kunar, Afghanistan, was reported only 19 minutes ago by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate to considerable depth of 287.5 km beneath the epicenter early morning on Tuesday 25 May 2021 at 6:34 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
