Strong but very deep magnitude 6.1 earthquake in the Philippines
A strong but very deep (approx. 480 km) earthquake with magnitude around 6.0 occurred short time ago (17:09 UTC) under the western part of Mindanao Island, Philippines.
Due to its great depth (and hence, distance from the surface) no significant damage should be expected. People near the epicenter reported only light shaking.
