18 Aug 22:37 UTC: Primo a segnalare: GFZ dopo 8 minuti.
Aug 18 22:39: Magnitudine ricalcolata da 6.8 a 7.1.
Profondità ricalcolata da 58.0 a 10.0 km.

Aug 18 23:05: Magnitudine ricalcolata da 7.0 a 6.6.
Profondità ricalcolata da 10.0 a 40.0 km.
Update Tue, 18 Aug 2020, 23:34
Today's quakes occurred in almost the same area as the massive magnitude 8.4 quake, which had occurred on 12 Sep 2007. In fact, they likely still represent late aftershocks of it.
Update Tue, 18 Aug 2020, 23:23
Magnitude recalculated to 6.6
It appears that the quake was "only" a 6.6 event. This is significantly weaker than a magnitude 7.0, after more detailed calculations have been possible in the 50 minutes since the quake occurred.
While the difference between 6.6 and 7.0 might seem small, due to the logarithmic scale, a magnitude 7 is 4 times stronger than a magnitude 6.6 quake, so the difference is very significant.
