A magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported only 21 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Saturday 7 November 2020 at 3.09 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc. Weak shaking might have been felt in Ankleshwar (pop. 74,700) located 19 km from the epicenter, Kosamba (pop. 33,200) 22 km away, Bharūch (pop. 153,500) 24 km away, Hansot (pop. 12,500) 36 km away, Kāthor (pop. 15,300) 36 km away, and Sūrat (pop. 2,894,500) 51 km away.

Anand (111.8 km N of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / single lateral shake / 1-2 s : I was laying on bed playing game (I live on first floor in Anand) and I got shaken up a little bit. Checked on internet on the spot but no news. Cross verified today and what I felt was true. It was an earthquake.

At some where around the same time felt some vibration. I checked the water in front it was not having any motion. I thought it was some truck on the road moving fast in a bad patch of the road.
