An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred only 16 minutes ago 23 km northwest of Huixtla, Mexico, the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 72 km beneath the epicenter near Huixtla, Chiapas, Mexico, early morning on Wednesday 3 February 2021 at 3:53 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
