An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred only 10 minutes ago 25 miles east of Renton, Washington, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 8.6 miles beneath the epicenter near Renton, King County, Washington State, USA, after midnight on Saturday 10 April 2021 at 12:38 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Riverbend (pop. 2,100) located 3 miles from the epicenter, Issaquah (pop. 36,100) 17 miles away, and Maple Valley (pop. 25,700) 18 miles away. In Sammamish (pop. 52,300, 22 miles away), Renton (pop. 100,200, 25 miles away), Renton (pop. 100,200, 25 miles away), Salmonberg (pop. 60,600, 25 miles away), Seattle (pop. 684,500, 32 miles away), and Tacoma (pop. 207,900, 38 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

Clearview, snohomish (58.1 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / not felt : Was this on the south whidby island fault or the Seattle fault? I sit on south whidby island Fault and that appears to cause me to not feel some EQ that are close enough to feel.

North Bend, WA / Light shaking (MMI IV) / single vertical bump / very short : Felt like a really loud BOOM. It was raining and I was in a cabin under a tree. So I felt the boom, and then heard all the water that was shaken from the tree hit the roof of the cabin at once.
