Parossismo di nuovo SE Etna cratere 16-17 novembre 2013
The 16th paroxysm of Etna's New SE crater occurred during the night 16-17 Nov 2013. Its peak phase with strong pulsating lava fountains was between midnight and 5 am. After taking a plane that arrived in Catania at 23:00, Tom hurried up the mountain and was lucky to be able to assist the main phase of the eruption from close-up. For videos, click here.

Earthquake monitor: Lists and maps of earthquakes in the world in near real time. Country lists, earthquake archive, and I-felt-it reports.

Photos from Kamchatka: Kamchatka in Russia's far east is one of world's remotest regions and has an almost unparalleled density of active volcanoes. Look at photos taken during our expeditions from this wonderful corner of the world!

Photos from Greece: We have traveled and studied extensively in Greece, in particular on its active volcanic areas such as Santorini, Nisyros, Milos, Methana.

Ibu volcano photos: Ibu in Halmahera is one of the most active, but rarely visited volcanoes in Indonesia. A spectacular lava dome is growing inside the volcano's breached crater, with frequent explosions.
