Grande bomba espulso dal cratere SE del vulcano Etna.Espulsi frammenti di magma fresco più grande 64 mm di diametro, spesso a forma di aerodinamicamente durante il loro volo.Bombe vulcaniche sono frammenti lava più grande 64 mm di diametro che vennero espulsi mentre ancora viscoso e parzialmente fuso. Molte bombe acquisiscono forme arrotondate aerodinamiche durante il loro viaggio attraverso l'aria. Bombe vulcaniche includono porchetta bombe, nastro bombe, bombe mandrino (con estremità contorta), bombe sferoidale e bombe "sterco di vacca".
