Eruzione Anak Krakatau luglio 2009: esplosioni vulcaniano

Dopo una pausa di 36 ore in attività tra la sera del 30 giugno e la mattina del 2 luglio, Anak Krakatau ricominciato con potenti esplosioni Vulcaniano. Il più grande di queste esplosioni furono preceduta da un'inflazione e agitazione del cono attivo o cupola lavica, innescando la roccia-diapositive da suoi fianchi, fino a quando la spina ha dato modo in gigante esplosioni di espellere un rapdly espandendo la massa di lava incandescente, solide rocce e grandi quantità di cenere, formando i pennacchi di fino a 2 km di altezza.
