Magnitude 4.6 earthquake strikes near Nazareno, Ascope, La Libertad, Peru

Just 17 minutes ago, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Nazareno, Ascope, La Libertad, Peru. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Sunday 22 August 2021 at 10:34 am local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 34 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Nazareno (pop. 240) located 115 km from the epicenter.
