An intermediate to deep magnitude 4.3 earthquake was reported early morning near Faizabad, Faīẕābād, Badakhshan, Afghanistan.
According to India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the quake hit on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, at 5:48 am local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 163 km. The strength of the earthquake may have been tempered by its relative great depth below the surface, which makes it feel weaker in absolute terms.
