Small 3.8 quake hits near El Sentro, Imperial County, California, USA

Just 11 minutes ago, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck near El Sentro, Imperial County, California, USA. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Thursday, December 1st, 2022, at 7:28 am local time, at a shallow depth of 7 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 3.8 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.8.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Ocotillo (pop. 270) located 7 miles from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Seeley (pop. 1,700) located 20 miles from the epicenter, Imperial (pop. 17,100) 27 miles away, El Sentro (pop. 44,000) 27 miles away, Santa Isabel (pop. 29,300) 30 miles away, Campo (pop. 2,700) 30 miles away, Heber (pop. 4,300) 30 miles away, Brawley (pop. 25,900) 31 miles away, and Calexico (pop. 40,100) 33 miles away.
