Moderate 4.3 quake hits near Mapastepec, Chiapas, Mexico

Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN) reported a magnitude 4.3 quake in Mexico near Mapastepec, Chiapas, 31 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Thursday, August 4th, 2022, at 2:44 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 62 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.3 as well.

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake near Nukalofa, Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga, was reported only 27 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 100 km beneath the epicenter early evening on Thursday, August 4th, 2022, at 7:39 pm local time.
