After last night's paroxysm
, activity continues at lower levels. The webcam on the island shows incandescence at the crater and VAAC Darwin reported low-level ash clouds during the day.
Most likely, mild strombolian activity is occurring at the crater, but there are currently no good direct observations to confirm the type of activity.
Last night's violent paroxysm at Anak Krakatau ended abruptly around 08:00 morning local time. Fortunately, the webcam on the island survived the eruption although it seems it was hit by a projectile at 02:33 local time, when it suddenly tilted. ... read all
