Krakatau volcano (Sunda Strait) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 15 June-21 June 2022 (Continuing Activity)
PVMBG reported that several eruptive events at Anak Krakatau were recorded during 15-17 June. Eruptions at 0636, 1337, and 2119 on 15 June, 1241 on 16 June, and 0042 and 1839 on 17 June produced dense gray-to-black ash plumes that rose 300-600 m above the summit and drifted N, SW, and S. A few of the webcam images posted with the reports showed ejected incandescent material.

The Alert Level remained at 3 (on a scale of 1-4), and the public was warned to stay at least 5 km away from the crater.
