Typical eruption style:
Explosive. Construction of a cinder cone  island (Anak Krakatau) inside the caldera formed by the 1883 eruption. Frequent strombolian activity.

The activity at the volcano remains intense, characterized by intermittent strong vulcanian explosions showering the cone with incandescent material. VAAC Darwin regularly reports ash plumes reaching 2-3 km altitude.
Lava flows seem not to be active at the moment.
Our friends Martin Rietze and Richard Roscow visited the volcano last week and observed similar activity as we had ourselves the week before:

Note that some explosions throw bombs all over the island and into the water.
