Kuchinoerabu-jima volcano (Ryukyu Islands, Japan): elevated activity continues

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recorded white ash plumes that rose 1,312 ft (400 m) above the summit crater.
Additionaly recorded 25 volcano-tectonic earthquakes due to an increased level of seismicity.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 1300 tonnes/day.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 2 km distance from the main crater.
