Laguna del Maule volcano (Central Chile): seismicity remains elevated

Laguna del Maule volcano covered by snow on 27 June (image: SERNAGEOMIN)On 7 July SERNAGEOMIN reported that the seismicity remains elevated associated with earthquakes located east of the volcano with diameter approx. 5 km near the intersection of two faults near Las Nieblas, and corresponded to elevated levels of carbon dioxide emissions.
The Alert Level remained at Yellow.
There is a 2 km zone around the main caldera in place.
