Lewotolo volcano (Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia): ongoing strombolian activity

Strombolian activity at Lewotolo volcano tonight (image: PVMBG)
The explosive eruption occurred from its crater at 00:25 local time today accompanied by ejected scoria to several hundred meters distance from the summit.
An ash plume rose approximately 2,000 ft (600 m) above the crater.
The local volcano observatory reported a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 3.8 mm and a duration of 39 seconds.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows and lahars could affect an area of about 3 km distance from the main crater.
