Lewotolok volcano (Lembata Island) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 27 April-3 May 2022 (Continuing Activity)

PVMBG reported that the eruption at Lewotolok continued during 26 April-4 May. Daily white-and-gray ash plumes rose 50-600 m above the summit and drifted in multiple directions. Images of the volcano showed incandescent material being ejected above the crater rim.
The Alert Level remained at 3 (on a scale of 1-4) and the public was warned to stay 3 km away from the summit crater and 4 km away from the crater on the SE flank.
