Background
Maiden Peak is the highest and southernmost of a chain of Pleistocene shield volcanoes and pyroclastic cones extending from north of Odell Lake to Charlton Butte. The Twins shield volcano lies across a low saddle north of Maiden Peak, Maklak Mountain lies to the SE of Maiden Peak, and an unnamed volcano that is the site of the WIllamette Pass ski area lies immediately SW of Maiden Peak.---
