Marapi volcano (Sumatra, Indonesia): small ash eruption

A small eruption occurred this morning (9 am local time), producing an ash plume that rose about 350 m according to local news.
Marapi has been showing increased activity since August 2011. VSI keeps the volcano at level 2 alert (out of 4) and recommends not to approach the summit within a radius of 3 km, as stronger eruptions could occur any time.

A small explosive eruption occurred this morning at around 08:05 local time, generating a small ash plume rising a few hundred meters above the crater. Mount Marapi volcano in West Sumatra had new ash emissions today, a local newspaper reported. "Smoke" (=volcanic ash) was seen being emitted from the summit crater between 8-9 am local time this morning and produced a plume rising about 300 m. ...

Marapi volcano had a modest eruption this evening (26 Sep) between 16:30-18:15 h local time. (Note Mapari is in Sumatra and different from frequently active M-E-rapi volcano near Yogyakarta in Central Java). ...
