Mayon volcano (Philippines) activity update: white steam plumes and one rockfall was observed

White steam plume captured from Mayon volcano on 31 October 2019
Mayon Volcano's seismic monitoring network recorded one rockfall related event during the 24-hour observation period. Moderate emission of white steam plumes that drifted northeast was observed. PHIVOLCS recorded 531 emissons of sulfur dioxide (SO2).
Alert Level 2 currently prevails over Mayon Volcano. PHIVOLCS reminds the public that sudden explosions, lava collapses, pyroclastic density currents and ashfall can still occur and threaten areas in the upper to middle slopes of Mayon.
