Increased seismic activity during the past few days had been more frequent under the lava dome in the summit crater that produced a series of glowing avalanches from its flanks as we reported in the last update.
Expected dangerous hot pyroclastic flows occurred at 08:02 and 12:50 local time today likely as a result of gravitational collapse of the lava dome caused by more frequent volcano-tectonic earthquakes.
Block-and-ash flows continue to descend over the upper slopes towards Kali Krasak direction about 300 m long, phoenix clouds rose to estimated 10,170 ft (3,100 m) altitude as can be seen in the video recorded.
