Today's seismic recording from Nevado del Ruiz (OLL station, INGEOMINAS)
No significant changes in activity have been reported in recent days. Small bursts of small volcanic-tectonic earthquakes, indicators of frequent small magma intrusions, continue to show up almost daily, and are clustered mostly in an area northeast and northwest of the Arenas crater at shallow depths between 0.5-8 km. ...more

SO2 plume from Nevado del Ruiz (NOAA)
An impressive SO2 plume was visible on the latest NOAA satellite image, suggesting that degassing activity has remained elevated.
Tue, 19 Mar 2013, 15:07
SO2 plume from Nevado del Ruiz (NOAA)
A phase of increased seismic activity with volcanic quakes and rockfalls occurred today. SO2 emission from the volcano remains high.
Mon, 18 Mar 2013, 16:37
Current seismic signal from Nevado del Ruiz (OLL station, INGEOMINAS)
A cluster of stronger earthquakes occurred today.
Sun, 17 Mar 2013, 10:24
Steaming Nevado del Ruiz yesterday (INGEOMINAS)
Seismic activity has been generally low. INGEOMINAS published some photos showing strong degassing from the volcano. ...more

SO2 plume from Nevado del Ruiz (NOAA)
During the last few days, INGEOMINAS has been recording weak continuous tremor of low energy and observed increased gas emissions, which produced a plume reaching up to about 1.5 km above the crater. The increased SO2 emission is also visible on NOAA's satellite images. ...more

Steaming Nevado del Ruiz yesterday morning (INGEOMINAS)
A phase of increased degassing and weak ash venting is taking place. INGEOMINAS observed a continuous steam-gas-ash plume rising about 300 m high and drifting southwest. ...more
Sun, 10 Mar 2013, 13:41
Since Friday, activity has been elevated. Ash emissions have been causing light ash falls in areas near the volcano. Strong degassing and odor of sulfur was noted in parts of the National Park. INGEOMINAS reports continuous volcanic tremor, and keeps the alert level at yellow (2 on a scale 1-4).

Current seismic recording from Nevado del Ruiz (OLL station, INGEOMINAS)
An increase in seismic activity was recorded by the Manizales Observatory today. Several relatively large volcanic earthquakes (but still less than mag 2 on the Richter scale) occurred and are thought to be related to a new intrusion of magma. ...more

SO2 plume from Nevado del Ruiz (NOAA)
The volcano experienced a phase of increase tremor and small quakes yesterday, probably related to some magma intrusion at depth, which resulted in increased SO2 emissions.
Seismic recording this morning from Ruiz (OLL station, INGEOMINAS)
