A strong SO2 plume today suggests heightened activity going on at Bagana.

An ash plume rising to 8,000 ft (2.4 km) was reported last night by VAAC Darwin. Along with the frequent SO2 plumes visible on satellite data, one can assume that there is ongoing activity (probably a growing lava dome or small flow and intermittent explosions).
