SVERT reported that a thermal anomaly from Snow, a volcano of Chirpoi, was detected in satellite images during 13-15 November. The Aviation Color Code remained at Yellow.

A hot spot persists at the summit of the volcano, suggesting that some sort of activity is present.

MODIS hot spot at Chirpoi volcano in the Kuriles (MODIS, Univ. Hawaii)
A hot spot was again detected on MODIS satellite data, which suggests the presence of lava or hot gasses. However, visual satellite images showed no degassing plume, which would have confirmed possible activity at the volcano.

A thermal anomaly was visible until 19 May, perhaps also until 22 May, but has not been detected since then. This might be due to cloud cover or a suggestion that activity has ceased.

A thermal hot spot continues to be visible at the summit, indicating some sort of activity (perhaps slow extrusion of lava dome, strombolian activity) goes on there.

SVERT reported that a thermal anomaly was detected over Snow, a volcano of Chirpoi, during 24-25, 28, and 30 December; cloud cover prevented observations of the volcano on other days during 24-31 December.
