A moderate explosive eruption occurred yesterday (4 July) at the volcano at 03:19 local time (11:19 UTC), the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) reported.
It lasted 10 minutes and was detected by seismic and infrasound (air pressure) sensors.
The Aviation Color Code was raised to Orange.
