Fuego volcano (Guatemala): new lava flow
Sunday Jul 14, 2013 01:53 AM | DOOR: T
Explosive activity has been weak (only few and small strombolian explosions with ash plumes up to 200-400 m height and incandescent material rising 100 m), but another lava flow has started on the upper southern flank. On 12 July morning, it was about 150 m long towards the Taniluyá canyon.
Tuesday, Jul 09, 2013
Activity remains generally stable with infrequent wek to moderate explosions, sometimes accompanied by shock waves felt in nearby villages. Plumes of fine ash rose to 600-800 m height above the crater and drifted for about 10 km before being dispersed, INSIVUMEH reported this morning in its daily update.
Friday, Jul 05, 2013
No significant changes have occurred recently, but heavy rainfalls caused some lahars in the canyons Las Lajas and El Jute yesterday. ...
Monday, Jul 01, 2013
The volcano has calmed down during the past day. Only 5 relatively weak explosions were recorded. Seismic activity has decreased as well.
Saturday, Jun 29, 2013
Explosions have become more violent, the latest special bulletin of INSIVUMEH indicates. Mild strombolian eruptions have turned into more powerful vulcanian-type explosions, which eject dense ash plumes rising to 800 m and produce numerous avalanches of blocks around the crater, especially on the southern flank. ...
Thursday, Jun 27, 2013
Explosions have become more frequent and stronger. Dense ash plumes rose up to 600 m above the crater. Shock waves from the explosions made windows and roof vibrate in houses of Sangre de Cristo, Panimache, Morelia and others in the area. (INSIVUMEH)
