Lava flow on Fuego early on 18 April 2015
A more intense phase of activity with the effusion of a 2 km long lava flow on the southeastern slope into the Taniluya canyon occurred during 17-18 April.
Activity has now returned to normal levels of intermittent strombolian explosions.
Friday, Mar 13, 2015
The number and average size of explosions at the volcano have increased again since Wednesday. INSIVUMEH reported frequent explosions with shock waves and ash plumes of up to 1 km height. No lava flow is currently active.
Monday, Mar 09, 2015
The volcano is in mild to moderate strombolian activity with a few explosions on average per hour. Incandescent material is being ejected to 100 m above the crater and ash plumes rise up to 800 m. ...

INSIVUMEH reported that an effusive eruption at Fuego that began on 28 February produced 300-400-m-high lava fountains. One lava flow traveled 1.6 km S down the Trinidad drainage and another traveled 600 m W down the Santa Teresa drainage. The eruption produced rumbling and train sounds audible up to 12 km away. Ash plumes rose 850-1,250 m above the crater and drifted 35 km W. ...

Raung volcano photos
: One of the largest and most active volcanoes in East Java, rarely-visited and relatively unknown Raung became (in)famous during its recent eruption in 2015 when its frequent ash plumes forced the repeated closure of Bali's airport.
Land of Theseus
: A relaxed walking and study tour to one of Greece's hidden treasures and also one of the least known volcanically active areas in Europe.
: A selection of our most popular trips, which we have been offering and improving over many years now: Stromboli & Etna, Santorini, Java, Ethiopia, Nyiragongo and more. Have a look!
Climbing Stromboli volcano
: Stromboli provides one of the most remarkable opportunities to watch volcanic eruptions from close: a natural ridge located 150 m above the active vents. A classic and all-time favorite tour by anyone interested in seeing active volcanoes!
