Wednesday Aug 22, 2012 10:05 AM | DOOR: T
Current seismogram from Galeras (ANGV station, INGEOMINAS)
Seismic activity has been generally low, with some quakes occurred below the active cone. The alert level remains at yellow.
Thursday, Aug 16, 2012
The seismic recordings show pulses of volcanic tremor and small earthquakes.
Monday, Aug 13, 2012
Sporadic gas and ash emissions continue to occur at Galeras and tremor signals are sometimes visible on the seismograms.
Wednesday, Aug 08, 2012

Gas plumes sometimes containing tephra rose from the crater. Observatory staff working near the crater reported a strong sulfur odor on 1 and 6 August. ...
Tuesday, Aug 07, 2012
Compared to the previous week, the seismicity at Galeras has increased and shows events related to fluid movements within the volcano. Few weak earthquakes with magnitudes less than 1.1 related to fracturing of rock occurred at shallow depths (less than 4 km) at various locations under the volcano. (INGEOMINAS weekly update 6 Aug).
Friday, Jul 27, 2012
During 18-24 July earthquakes at Galeras were less than M 1.3 and located at depths not exceeding 3 km. Gas emissions, observed by a network of video cameras, contained ash almost daily. ...
