Galeras volcano (Colombia) activity update: occasional steam, gas and ash venting, weak tremor pulses
Wednesday Aug 29, 2012 10:05 AM | DOOR: T
Seismogram of ANZ station on 26 Aug, showing a small tremor pulse associated with steam and ash ventingGas and steam emissions occur sporadically, such as observed on 21 and 26 August. The emission on 26 Aug at 4:30 pm local time contained some ash and was accompanied by a small quake related to fluid movements.
Weak tremor pulses with a slight increase to the previous week have been recorded. Volcanic earthquakes at various locations under the volcano reached a magnitude of 2.5 and depths up to 9 km.
