SO2 plume from Ruiz on 25 Sep 2012 (ESA)
INGEOMINAS reports: During the last week Nevado del Ruiz volcano continued to record seismic activity primarily associated with rock fracturing within the volcanic edifice, which was located south and northeast of Arenas crater, at depths ranging from 1 to 9 km.
Current seismogram from Nevado del Ruiz (OLL station, INGEOMINAS)
The highest magnitude recorded during the last week was 2.4 (ML), corresponding to an earthquake that occurred on September 21 at 18:06 (local time). Additionally, there was low-energy seismic activity related to fluid dynamics inside the conduits of the Arenas crater and an area located to the NE.
There were also small signals associated with explosions and / or gas and ash emissions, characteristics of the current state of the volcano.

A strong SO2 plume was visible on NOAA's satellite image. At the moment, the seismogram shows some heightened activity as well, but there are no reports of an eruption. [meer...]
Nevado del Ruiz volcano (Colombia) activity update: steaming, occasional weak steam and ash explosions, seismic unrest
Wednesday, Sep 19, 2012
Occasional small explosions with steam and sometimes ash emissions continue to occur at the volcano. There have been shallow earthquakes up to magnitude 1.8 at depths of 1-8 km north of the Arenas crater and weak tremor pulses over the past 7 days. [meer...]

Nevado del Ruiz volcano (Colombia) activity update: steaming, occasional ash emissions, low seismic activity
Wednesday, Sep 12, 2012
Steaming and occasional weak explosions with ash venting (such as one on 6 Sep at 09:02 local time) are accompanied by relatively low-energy seismic activity. There are week tremor pulses and some volcanic quakes concentrated NE and N of the Arenas crater at depths between 1.5 and 7 km. The largest was a M1.5 event on 8 Sep at 15:14 local time. [meer...]
