Nevado del Ruiz volcano (Colombia) activity update: occasional ash venting

Starting from 11:43 local time on 11 July, a weak pulse of tremor accompanied by small ash emissions was reported by the Manizales observatory. The ash plumes rose to about 600 m.
The National Park reported weak ash fall in Valle de las Tumbras (Cañon de Molinos) and at Brisas, the park entry.

Two shallow volcanic-tectonic earthquakes of magnitudes 2.8 and 2.9 occurred this morning at 05:39 local time. Quake hypocenters were at 5 km SW beneath the Arenas crater.
