Background
The Ogino-Sen volcano group in eastern Tottori Prefecture consists of 20 monogenetic volcanoes from 1.2 to 0.4 million years in age (Nakano et al., 2001-). The adjacent Mikata volcano group in western Hyogo Prefecture consists of 8 monogenetic volcanoes from 1.7 to 0.22 million years in age.---
