Pacaya volcano (Guatemala) activity update: lava flow and continuous spattering

MODIS hot spots on Pacaya during the past week (Univ. Hawaii)
Activity at the volcano has not changed significantly. The lava flow at the volcano's upper NE flank towards Cerro Chino remains active. This morning, it was approx. 150 m long.
The volcano observatory reported continuous spattering from the main vent in the summit crater with ejections reaching 10-15 m height. Seismic observations suggest that magma is continuously rising towards the surface through the main conduit.
