Pavlov volcano (Alaska Peninsula, USA) activity update
Saturday Jun 15, 2013 14:57 PM | DOOR: T
Weak activity continues. Persistent elevated surface temperatures consistent with lava effusion were observed in satellite images, and minor ash plumes below 20,000 were generated through most of the week and mostly drifted to the southeast. There were no reports of ash fall on local communities. On Thursday, pilots reported observing no ash emissions. (AVO)
Thursday, Jun 13, 2013
Activity (external and internal) has been decreasing, although now intermittent ash emissions and possibly effusion of lava continue, AVO reports.
Wednesday, Jun 12, 2013
Ash emissions continue, and possibly, a small lava flow is effusing from the summit. ...
Monday, Jun 10, 2013
Ash emissions, probably caused by strombolian activity continue to be observed. Seismic tremor and explosion signals accompany the activity. Persistent elevated surface temperatures visible on satellite data suggest that there is some lava effusion as well (in the form of small flows or a new lava dome). ...
Saturday, Jun 08, 2013
Weak eruptive activity continues, producing small steam and ash plumes drifting at about 18-20,000 ft (5-6 km) altitude SSE as detected on satellite data (VAAC Anchorage).
Friday, Jun 07, 2013
The renewed eruptive activity (since 4 June) continues at low to moderate levels, accompanied by increased seismic activity. AVO reported low lava fountaining, although webcam images of the plume are more consistent with classic strombolian-type activity. Yesterday morning, ash emissions rose to 14-18,000 ft (4.2-5.6 km) altitude and drifted about 45 km SW. ...

Latest quakes in Greece
: Greece has a lot of earthquake activity, but most of them occur around the margin of the Aegean microplate. The Cycladic islands are located in its center and therefore seismically comparably quiet.
Ethiopia and the Danakil
: Ethiopia is a very diverse and beautiful country. Thanks to our numerous expeditions to Erta Ale and Dallol
and beyond, we have an extensive collection of images showing the volcano's lava lake, the desert, the colorful hot springs of Dallol, the vast salt lakes, camel caravans and more.
