Sakurajima volcano (Kyushu, Japan) activity update: moderate vulcanian explosions, ash plumes to 2 km altitude

A few new explosions have occurred at the volcano in the past 2 days (1-2 per day), but smaller than some of the larger bursts in previous weeks. Reported ash cloud altitudes of the last eruptions were about 2 km.
