Current seismic signal, station TELN (INETER)
INETER reports abundant emission of gases, mixed with steam, creating plumes of 100 - 200 meters above the crater rim, and jetting sounds.
Inside the crater, incandescence in two vents is visible and temperature measurements at the fumaroles were 333 deg C on the morning of 10 Sep. Seismic amplitudes (RSAM) are within normal levels, characteristic of an active volcano.

Telica volcano has had some minor activity this month. A recent youtube video shows a small active lava pond at the bottom of the inner pit crater and newspapers report an increase of (fumarole) temperatures from 200 to over 400 deg C, as well as weak explosions and degassing accompanied by turbine-like sounds.

Small to medium-sized ash eruptions continued at Telica volcano during 18-20 May, producing ash plumes. On 18 May a strong explosion lasted 6 minutes and produced an ash plume rising 2.6 km above the crater. 15 small explosions occurred during 18-19 May with ash plumes rising 500-800 m. Similar explosions occurred in the following days, but calmed down somewhat during 20-21. ...
