Tolbachik volcano: eruption updates & news
Tolbachik volcano (Kamchatka) activity update
Sunday Jul 14, 2013 02:17 AM | DOOR: T
Tremor and lava effusion from the southern vent of Tolbachik Dol have remained stable. KVERT reports no changes in activitly.
The same goes for the currently other 5 volcanoes on yellow/orange alert in Kamchatka: Shiveluch and Kizimen (moderate seismic activity) and probably Bezymianny (no seismic data due to Tolbachik) continue to effuse lava domes, Karymsky (no data for technical reasons) has likely some small intermittent strombolian-vulcanian explosions and Gorely continues to be loud with tremor caused by hydrothermal and degassing activity.
Tuesday, Jul 09, 2013
While the activity of lava effusion from the southern vent continues, the recent tremor measurements of KVERT have been showing a decreasing trend since mid June, after having been stable or even rising a bit since April. This means that the effusion rate is likely decreasing as well, but still, it is difficult to predict when the eruption will eventually end.
Friday, Jul 05, 2013
The explosive-effusive eruption continues with lava flows from the southern fissure on Tolbachinsky Dol. KVERT mentions in its weekly update last night that several cinder cones are growing at the vent.
Monday, Jul 01, 2013
KVERT reports no change in activity. Tremor remains at similar levels as during the past month. A large thermal anomaly continues to show the active lava flow field to the S and SE from the southern fissure.
Tuesday, Jun 25, 2013
No end of the eruption is in sight. Lava continues to be erupted from the southern fissure. KVERT reports no significant changes and tremor levels have remained stable over the past 2 weeks.
Tuesday, Jun 18, 2013
KVERT reports no changes in the ongoing eruption of the volcano. Tremor levels remain stable and lava continues to be effused from the southern fissure vent. ...

Mayon volcano photos
: Mayon on Luzon Island, towering above Legazpi city is famous for being one of the most perfectly symmetrical stratovolcanoes in the world. It is also one of the most active and most dangerous volcanoes (not only) in the Philippines.
