De nieuwe USGS / GVP per activiteitenverslag updates is nu beschikbaar. De samenvatting:
Cleveland (Aleutians, Alaska): slecht weer meestal gedetailleerde opmerkingen voorkomen. Op 10 februari bleek satellietwaarnemingen dat de lavakoepel was uitgegroeid tot ongeveer 50 m in diameter.
Galunggung (West-Java, Indonesië): Water verkleuring van het kratermeer en temperatuurstijging.
Ijen (East Java, Indonesia): Alert lowered
Lokon (N-Sulawesi, Indonesia): An explosion from the Tompaluan crater, in the saddle between the Lokon-Empung peaks, produced an ash plume that rose as high as 2 km above the crater on 10 February; loud "thumping" noises were also heard. The Darwin VAAC reported ash plumes that rose to altitudes of 3-3.4 km (10,000-11,000 ft) a.s.l. during 10-12 February.
Reventador (Ecuador): New activity detected on 10-13 February. Satellite images showed a thermal anomaly on 10 February. Based on pilot observations, the Washington VAAC reported an ash plume that rose to an altitude of 5.2 km (17,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted NW. On 11 February ash-and-steam emissions drifted NW. Seismicity increased on 12 February and a lava flow descended the NE flank during 12-13 February. Crater incandescence was observed during 10-13 February.
Etna (Sicily): Paroxysm of 9 February. Pulsating lava fountain rising 100-500 m above the crater before producing a continuous jet rising 300-400 m above the crater.
El Hierro (Canary Islands): Low levels of continuing eruption
Karymski (Kamchatka): Activity continued at a moderate level during 3-10 February and indicated that ash plumes possibly rose to an altitude of 4.1 km (13,500 ft) a.s.l. Satellite imagery showed a thermal anomaly at the volcano all week and an ash cloud 3 km long by 7 km wide that drifted 10 km SE on 6 February.
Kilauea (Hawai'i): The lava lake in the deep pit within Kilauea's Halema'uma'u Crater circulated and periodically rose and fell. Incandescence was visible on the NE and SE edges of the Pu'u 'O'o crater floor, and strongest from a small cone on the NE edge during 8-13 February. A web camera recorded incandescence above the pali on 8 and during 12-14 February. The SE vent issued short lava flows on 14 February.
Kizimen (Kamchatka): Moderate seismic activity at Kizimen during 3-10 February, a large thermal anomaly, continued effusion of a large lava flow on the E flank and accompanying hot avalanches. Strong gas-and-steam activity all week.
Popocatepetl (Mexico): steam-and-gas emissions sometimes with small amounts of ash observed on 14 February. Crater incandescence observed during the morning of 8 and 14 February.
Puyehue-Cordon Caulle (Chile): ash emissions continue at low levels. During 8-11 and on 13 February plumes observed rising 1-3 km above the crater (no observations on other days)
Sakurajima (Japan): During 8-14 February explosions from Sakura-jima produced plumes that rose to altitudes of 1-3 km (3,000-10,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted E and SE. On 11 February an ash plume that rose to an altitude of 2.4 km (8,000 ft) a.s.l., drifted E, and later dissipated. A pilot observation indicated an ash plume rising to an altitude of 1.8 km (6,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifting NE on 11 February.
Sheveluch (Kamchatka): Low levels of seismic activity during 3-10 February. Satellite imagery showed a daily thermal anomaly over the lava dome. A viscous lava flow continued to effuse in the 2010 summit crater. Moderate fumarolic activity at the lava dome and occasional hot avalanches observed all week.
