Popocatépetl (Central Mexico): The intensity of the current eruptive phase remains high. A phase of particularly strong tremor accompanying continuous explosions and ash emissions occurred this morning.
As a consequence of the elevated activity,CENAPRED raised the alert level to Yellow, Phase 3. An exclusion zone of 12 km radius around the volcano is in place.

Reventador (Ecuador): An increase in seismic activity has occurred today. A steam plume can be seen rising above the volcano and a hot spot at the summit continues to be visible on MODIS satellite data, suggesting continuing lava extrusion.

Copahue (Chile/Argentina): Weak sporadic ash emissions have been observed yesterday, mixing with the usual white degassing plume. In addition, a small SO2 plume from the volcano could be seen on satellite data. This could be the result of a new magma intrusion, or be a still result of the previous crisis about a month ago, when hundreds of people were evacuated but no eruption followed.
SERNAGEOMIN has not commented on new activity and maintains alert level yellow.
