The seismic activity continued to be elevated until about mid-March as the last tremor signal was detected on 19 March. Thus, the volcano remains relatively calm for now.
Therefore, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) lowered the alert level for the volcano from Level 2 to Level 1 at 14:00 local time today.
