Crop of aTerra satellite image (NASA) taken on 02:15 GMT on 12 Nov showing part of Flores Island and Rakotenda island with erupting Paulweh volcano (center right).
Low-level ash emissions continue from Paluweh. A recent Terra / Modis satellite image shows the ash plume at 6-8,000 ft altitude (2-2.4 km) drifting about 60 km to the west.

A MODIS - AQUA satellite image taken at 5:40 (UTC) shows a strong gas plume drifting 100 KM NW. The VSI maintains the Alert Level at 3 (on a scale of 1-4) but does not describe the current activity. Ash plumes were last seen on 22 October. ... read all
