The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) reported that seismic activity at the volcano has increased over the past 24 hours. The seismic activity is characterized by continuous tremor.
No eruptive activity or emissions from the summit have been observed in cloudy satellite and web camera views.
The alert level for the volcano was raised to "yellow", as an increase of volcanic tremor has been recorded.
This does not mean that an eruption is likely or imminent. Past eruptions of Pavlof occurred with little or no warning.
