Pavlov volcano (Alaska): alert alert raised because of possible small explosive activity

The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) recorded small explosion signals from the volcano via its infrasound network located at Sand Point and on the local seismic network yesterday.
"It is unknown if the explosions produced any volcanic ash, but their small size suggests any hazard is currently confined to the area around the volcano's summit. Because these signals are above normal background for Pavlof, the Alaska Volcano Observatory is raising the Aviation Color Code to YELLOW and the Alert Level to ADVISORY." (AVO)
The elevated seismic activity observed in mid May has again declined to background levels. TRhe Alaska Volcano Observatory lowered the Aviation Color Code and Alert Level to GREEN/NORMAL. ... read all
Low-level seismic tremor and increased steaming has been observed; Pavlof is notorious for not giving much warning before erupting so AVO has raised the alert as a new eruption may start at any time. ... read all
Since mid June, 2017, unrest at the volcano has gradually declined to levels considered as normal background or normal. ... read all
