Guatemala tour Dec 2015: Cerro Quemado
Cerro Quemado (="Burned Peak"), is the youngest of several vents of the Almolonga volcanic complex. Its last eruption in 1818 produced an extensive field of block lava and a complex dome. Located immediately south of Quezaltenango and beautifully vegetated by pine forest, it is a popular half-day excursion from the city.
