Tremor has increased since about 10 Jan (image: OVPF)
The Observatoire volcanologique du Piton de la Fournaise (OVPF) reported that seismic tremor has increased over the 72 hours.
Lava fountains continue to build the cinder cone around the vent where occasionally exceeds its height and feeding lava overflow from the vent.
The ground deformation measurements continue to detect slight deflation at shallow magma chamber level (2-2,5 km) reflecting magma intrusion and migration within the volcano edifice.
The seismic station detected 12 volcano-tectonic quakes with a magnitude lower than 1.5 over the past 24 hours.
