Lava flow from Piton de la Fournaise this evening
The latest bulletin of OVPF reports currently low tremor and confirms that the eruptive fissure originally was 500 m long. Effusive activity quickly focussed to the lower end of it at approx. 2500 m altitude.
The eruption continues with active lava flow effusion from a row of 7 vents on the upper flank of the Dolomieu crater.

OVPDLF reported that 180 earthquakes at Piton de la Fournaise were recorded from 0400 to 0900 on 4 February, including five events greater than M 2. A seismic crisis began at 0910, tremor was recorded at 1050, and an eruption began at 1100.
